Light to Light 3 Day Lighthouse Stay Fully Guided Walk
Note - we are happy to tailor a tour to suit your choice of dates & itinerary
Day 1 (13km)
Pick up from your Merimbula area accommodation - travel via Pambula, , visit a working
oyster farm at Broadwater before proceeding south to Eden and onto Ben Boyd National Park.
The walk begins at Boyds Tower where we marvel the sandstone structure that was never
officially used as a light house, instead Benjamin Boyd relied on it as a spotting tower for his whaling fleet.
Here at Boyds Tower we begin our amazing three-day trek along the breathtaking
Wilderness Coast. The rest of the day is spent trekking one of Australia’s most iconic walking trails - the famous Light to Light.
Arriving at Saltwater Creek, you will be picked up by our 4wd bus and transported to your accommodation at the historic Green Cape Light Station. You will have time to relax or indulge in some late afternoon whale watching (seasonal) before a scrumptious dinner based on local seasonal produce.
Day 2 (9km)
We begin our day with a hearty breakfast before our 4wd bus delivers you back to Saltwater Creek to continue our walk along this amazing coastline.
We break at Hegarties Bay before continuing south, eventually making our way to Bittangabee Bay. Our bus will be waiting to deliver you back to the Green Cape Light Station and a well-deserved meal with local wines and beer.
Day 3 (8km)
We’ll begin with whale watching (spring time only) from the Green Cape point before
travelling back to Bittangabee Bay. There will be time to explore the the historic ruins before making our way further south towards Green Cape Lighthouse.
Near Green Cape we’ll visit the Lye–e-Moon Cemetery - a reminder of the tragic ship wrecks of the steamer days.
Our arrival at Green Cape Lighthouse marks the official end of what is truly one of
Australia’s most scenic iconic walking trails.
Take your time exploring and photographing the beautiful Green Cape Lighthouse - Australia’s 2nd tallest Lighthouse built in 1883.
We depart Green Cape Lighthouse stopping off at the Disaster Bay Lookout for a panoramic view down the Wilderness Coast and into Victoria.
Next, it's back to Eden and onto Merimbula, setting down at pre-arranged points, ending what has been three amazing days exploring Australia’s magnificent Wilderness Coast and walking one of Australia's best walks.
Note: This walk does involve some short stretches over rocky sections and uneven surfaces.
